FAQs

Q: What versions of Exact does Exact eCommerce work with?

A: Macola ES, Macola Progression SQL, and Exact Globe.

Q: I am a distributor/manufacturer. Why would I want to offer eCommerce?

A: Your business might not sell directly to the consumer; however, there is still substantial ROI savings from eCommerce. Since Exact eCommerce communicates directly to your Progression or ES data, you can--with very little maintenance--give your dealer(s) up-to-date information on pricing, inventory availability, order status, and order tracking. And this is all done without any data entry! Your customers receive information more easily and more efficiently while taking the load off of your customer service department.

Q: Can my site be set up as a Business to Business (B2B) Web site?

A: Yes. As explained above, your site can be set up for your distribution channel. It also can be set up with these configurations: Business to Business (B2B), Business to Consumer (B2C), as well as a Hybrid of the two. The Hybrid option allows your company to display items only (without sharing pricing information) and requires consumers to be set up as a dealer before making online purchases. Dealers are allowed to log in to purchase and see pricing. You can also set up a dynamic dealer locator page that comes directly from a specific customer type from Macola. This way you always have up-to-date dealer contact information.

Q: Does your site have to be hosted on your internal network?

A: No. That's what makes Exact eCommerce so unique. Your Web site(s) will be hosted from a datacenter that automatically synchronizes to and from your Exact Macola data, minus the tedious and time-consuming uploads and downloads. You don't have to worry about internet bandwidth into your office, power outages, or server maintenance--and all of this is done without interfering with your Web site. Your site will function 100% independent of your local Macola network. For example, if your local server is down, your customers can still create orders and view data on your site. Once your server is up and running again, all changes will automatically update to your Macola ES or Progression.

Q: Does Exact eCommerce look at the price codes within ES and Progression?

A: Yes. Exact eCommerce looks at all 8 price codes. As you make changes to the price codes within ES or Progression, the changes will be reflected on the inventory immediately within the site.

Q: Can a customer view an invoice or order status from an order entered directly entered into ES or Progression?

A: Yes. Exact eCommerce directly looks at all data entered into ES or Progression; therefore, when data is entered and changing in ES or Progression, it is reflected to the customer on the site. Customers can view and print orders and invoices, see order status changing, and track UPS/FedEx.

Q: I am a job shop/ contract manufacturer. What's in it for me?

A: If you store inventory for your OEM partners or need to give status on production output, since Exact eCommerce communicates directly to your Progression or ES data, you can--with very little maintenance--give your customers up-to-date information on inventory availability, order status, and order tracking. And this is all done without any data entry! Your customers receive information more easily and more efficiently while taking the load off of your customer service department.

Q: How can the site be designed?

A: The site can look and feel however you prefer--it's completely up to you. Exact eCommerce can clone your existing design in keeping with your brand's image, or if you prefer, we can present various templates and start fresh with a new design.
